We first met Bill VanDerhoef last year. We were at a restaurant celebrating the birthdays of four WWII veterans. Along with these four, there were another seven WWII veterans along with spouses, caretakers, and friends. I think about 25 people altogether. Sitting in a booth nearby were Bill and his wife. They asked what was going on. Next thing we know, the waitress said Bill and his wife had picked up the whold tab for the party. They said they did it in honor of Bill's brother Mike, who is a Vietnam veteran. It wasn’t until recently that in the course of conversation, we learned that Bill is a US Army veteran himself. Thank you Bill for not only your service, but for your kind heart.
